Today we drove around Flathead Lake. We drove down the east side to Polson, MT, and back north along the west side to Kalispell. The lake is the largest lake west of the Mississippi River. There are several small islands on the lakes with some very impressive homes.
The photo with this posting is with my brother Don and his wife Vicki. They live in Coupeville, WA. Last week we had a family reunion in West Yellowstone with our three, their families, Don's two daughters and their families. There were 28 of us, including 14 children under 14. We will be traveling with Don and Vicki to Glacier NP, Waterton Lake,NP and Banff NP. Another couple also joined us for Glacier and beyond. The other couple is Larry and Dean Lohman, also from Coupeville, WA.
The photo was taken in Glacier National Park yesterday with Lake McDonald and the Rocky Mountains in the background. The weather has been almost perfect while we were in and around Glacier NP.

Today we are at a RV park outside of Glacier National Park, near Kalispell,MT. We drove through the park on the only major highway, "Going to the Sun." The views on the drive are beautiful. The park seemed to be busy, as you would expect. There are also three different spots where they had 'flaggers' for road construction. It seems that every national park has lots of road construction. We drove over Logan Pass, stopped at the Visitors' Center, and had lunch overlooking St. Mary's Lake.

On our return we were on a very narrow part of the highway and our outside mirror on the driver's side hit the outside mirror on an oncoming truck; a Dodge dually w/ his mirrors fully extended and slightly over the double yellow line. My mirror was slammed back against the cab and the mirror was sent flying into the back seat. No one was hurt. There was no chance to stop, so we just drove back to the RV park and stuck the broken mirror back in with the help of some tape.

Glaicer is an incrediable park. Spectacular views and tons of beautiful wild flowers in full bloom.

This is our first attempt at having a blog, bear with us.
